​Administration of Medicines

In accordance with the Statutory Framework For the Early Years, we are happy to administer medication to your child as long as the following the rules are obeyed.
Prescription medication (written instruction from a doctor):
  • A permission form is completed before commencement of the medication (Prescription Medication Administration Form).
  • The medication is in the original container and states the name of the child and the dose to be administered.
Non prescription medication (recommended by a doctor, dentist, nurse or pharmacist):
  • This can only be administered with written permission in advance of when the medication may be required.  This can be in the form of an email if permission has been requested over the phone
We appreciate that sometimes a child might need Infant Suspension to help them get through the day for a minor ailments.  We are happy to help with this but we aren't prepared to administer Infant Suspension for a number of days.  The following flowchart has been created to help clarify the rules for the administration of Infant Suspension:
