Communication
At Fizzy Fish, we understand how busy parents/carers are and it may not be possible to engage in a daily conversation with your child's Key Person. In recognising this, we provide a number of ways in which we support a regular two-way flow of communication such as the Famly app (preferred method), texts, telephone calls, emails and through our Contact Us pages on our website (required method for requesting extra sessions and BH swaps). Parents also have the opportunity to book meetings with their child’s Key Person either in person or over the telephone, to provide opportunities to share observations, assessments and planning with parents and to be able to listen and respond to queries or concerns either party may have.
Face To Face Contact
We are always happy to speak to you at drop off and pick up for brief discussions about your child. It is essential that you share information with us that is important for us to know before the start of your child’s session and we will always give feedback about your child’s day at the end of the session, If you require more time, then please do not hesitate to book a face to face meeting with Lou, Sian or your child’s key person at a mutually convenient time.

Famly
This app is a full nursery management system. When your child starts with us, you will receive a sign up email from Famly. In the App you will be able to find the following information:
My News (the first icon on the left hand side at the bottom of the screen) is a News Feed.
· Status updates about your child, during their day.
· Posts from your child's setting to all parents, or groups of parents, such as all the parents in your child's room.
· Photos and observations about your child, that only you can see.
· Your invoices which again, only you can see.
Child profile (the second icon, usually a photo of your child)
Messages (the third icon)
Notifications (the fourth icon)
Menu (the last icon)
Facebook
We recommend that all parents ‘like’ our Facebook pages; Fizzy Fish Nursery, Fizzy Fish Pre School and Fizzy Fish Peter Gladwin as these give ideas of outings and activities and what we have been doing during the week at each setting.
Invoices
These are sent out towards the end of each month. You will receive this by email and on the Famly app. The due payment date is shown on the invoice and is usually the 5th of the month the invoice is for. If you are unsure of whether you have received an invoice, you can use the use the 5th icon at the bottom of you app to access the complete Menu. Select Balance. This will display your current balance and list all your invoices. If you want to see all your invoices including the cancelled ones, you must click the ‘Show’ and click the ’Show cancelled invoices’ box. Please note that accounts aren’t credited automatically, we have to manually credit each account and we don’t do this until after the payment due date. Any payments received after that process aren’t credited until just before we start the next invoice run. Payments can be made by childcare vouchers, Tax Free Childcare (preferred method), bank transfer, cheque or cash. Again, please note that childcare vouchers and Tax Free Childcare payments can take up to seven days to reach us, so please keep that in mind when paying by the due date.

- The Activity feed is displayed and details your child’s day in the setting. This is a real time feed and some details may be updated if they are incorrect by the setting. You can also report absences from the setting for sickness and holidays.
- About displays the following:
- The Basic info which will have been set up but can be edited by a parent
- The Health details which can be edited by a parent. The setting will receive details of any changes made.
- The Sensitive Information which can also be edited by a parent.
- Registration and Room Moves can only be edited by the setting.
- Permissions isn’t currently used.
- The main Contacts will have been set up but parents can edit the details and add new contacts.
- More gives you the following:
- Journey displays observations made in the setting and allows parents to add their own observations made out of the setting. An observation is made up of pictures and details of what was observed. Details of the mandatory Two Year Check are also visible here.
- Notes is used by the setting to store other information or relevant documents which can be made visible to the parent.
- Reports is used by the setting to record the details of any accidents, incidents or medication administered.
- Photos displays photos from the News Feed that your child has been tagged in.
- Leave displays the details of your child’s absences.
- Nap Times displays the length of time your child slept on a particular day.
- Setting info display contact details of our main office, our opening hours and bank holiday closure dates.
Messages (the third icon)
- Allows you to message a member of staff in your child’s room or one of the management team.
- Displays all the conversations you’ve had.
Notifications (the fourth icon)
- Shows all the notifications that have been sent to you.
Menu (the last icon)
- Displays the menu for the app. The Balance option gives you details of your invoice and your current balance. See Invoices below for more details.
